Beekeeper slouch...je reviendrai à Montréal

Ok, niveau photos, c'est pas demain la veille que je rentre chez Magnum ou le National Geographic. Cela dit, vu que ça ne fait pas tout à fait partie de mes ambitions, on va juste laisser ça pour une autre vie. Pour l'instant, je m'efforce simplement de tenter de donner une idée du rendu de ce que je tricote.....Déjà, rien que le dire est compliqué. Alors le faire, pensez donc.

Bref. Tout ça pour une commande. De ma cops d'Outre Atlantique. Avant que je la quitte cet été. Elle a commandé un Beekeeper slouch. A l'origine, un modèle ( payant, sur ravelry, cliquer sur le lien sous la photo), paru sur le génialissime Interweave en 2013, et crée par Josie Mercier.

Honnêtement, le modèle n'avait pas beaucoup retenu mon attention. Ca n'aurait pas fait partie de mes favoris à faire pour l'hiver. Tricoté à l'origine avec une Plymouth Yarn Galway Worsted, j'ai de mon côté opté pour une Wool of the Andes de chez Knitpicks, ( Opal Heather). Premier essai chez Knitpicks, assez difficile d'ailleurs à dégoter, mais une merveille à l'arrivée. Voici donc le résultat:

J'ai absolument adoré tricoter ce modèle, cette laine est un bonheur, et le rendu couleur superbe. Les explications étaient simplement tip top, on peut difficilement faire mieux.

Bon, on voit pas trop le "slouch" sur ma superbe photo d'artiste. Mais il slouche très bien pour de vrai.

Il va maintenant faire le long voyage vers sa nouvelle propriétaire. Ca tombe bien, c'est le printemps!!!!Je le suivrai bien jusqu'à Montréal... à défaut, je vais peut-être en tricoter un pour moi.

Ok now, as far as taking pictures is concerned, i am not ready yet to apply for a job at Magnum or the National Geographic. Not quite. That being said, it has never been one of my major ambitions , so i will just leave that for some future reincarnated life. For right now, all i seek to do is attempt to give an idea of what i knit looks like.......Just saying it is difficult ( and probably totaly un-English like), so imagine doing it......

Anyway. That was an "order". From my beloved pal across the Atlantic. Before i left her last summer, she asked for a Beekeeper slouch. Originaly a paying pattern on Ravelry ( click on the link under the first picture top of the post), released in the superb Interweave 2013, and created by Josie Mercier.

To be quite honest, this pattern wasn't one of my favourites: it would not have been top of my list this winter. Originaly knitted with Plymouth Yarn Galway Worsted, I opted for Wool of the Andes from Knitpicks, ( Opal Heather).That was a first "try" at Knitpicks ( quite difficult to find in France, even on the net), but the result is simply georgous!

This pattern was fantastic to knit, i loved the feeling of the wool, and the colour. As for the explanations, it would be difficult to write anything clearer. Now, my splendid artistic pictures does not pay tribute to the "slouchness" of the hat, but slouch it does, really.

It is now going to travel all the way to its new owner. Which is extremely well-timed, since spring is coming!!!! I wouldn't mind following it to Montreal. No chance though. Instead, i might knit one for myself....
